Really Fight Ferrari Vs Lamborghini and the Winner Is

Ferrari Vs Lamborghini
Every brand of high-end, super-luxury sports car always has its diehard advocates. A loyal fan base cannot be convinced that their favorite automobile is less capable than their rival. In this regard, Ferrari and Lamborghini are no different. One thing is for sure: both brands manufacture cars of the greatest beauty and the most superior performance.

Historically, one of Ferraris most popular models, the Testarossa, offered a 12-cylinder, mid-engine design. Its spectacular appearance was only rivaled by its performance characteristics. Anyone, not just a redhead, was sure to be noticed in this magnificent, wheeled beast. For pure power, torque and handling ability, this machine was unrivaled.

Another blast from the past is the similarly engineered Lamborghini Countach. Cabin-forward design coupled with a powerful mid-engine power plant, the Countach provided ample reason to exclaim at its beauty. Sleekly designed, its appearance benefited greatly from the addition of wheel spacers.

Webber in Pole Position Red Bull Takes the Front Row in Qualifying

Once again Sebastian Vettel was the man to beat, setting a provisional pole. But this was not to last as his team mate, Mark Webber, recorded a fastest lap just seconds later beating Vettel by just 0.032 seconds.
Behind the Red Bull-occupied front row were the two Ferraris. Third place went to Fernando Alonso, who was just 0.1 seconds slower than Vettel and fourth to Felipe Massa, with the Scuderia obviously very happy with the progress they have made. Jenson Button’s McLaren was fifth, but his team mate Lewis Hamilton couldn’t manage anything better than 10th place in his home Grand Prix. The surprise of the day was the performance of Paul di Resta, who in his rookie period brought his Force India to the sixth place of the grid.

The unpredictable weather conditions made the qualifying of the British Grand Prix something of a gamble, and the teams weather forecasts were expecting rain during the final session. So everyone made sure that they got out quickly in order to set a fast time before it started to rain again.

Ferrari Racing Helmet

It comes in both black and “gray” (its tan if you ask me, but I guess Ferrari’s website knows best) and is sure to go great with your US$764.75 vintage-look leather jacket and US$426.70 jumbo watch. And it’s embossed with the Ferrari logo, so all your friends will be intensely jealous and no longer mock your 1:18 scale F1 collection. You would think a company that sells US$200,000+ supercars would have no need to hawk merchandise, but apparently not. Along with the expected assortment of watches, polo shirts and key rings is this US$331.40 racing helmet. You’re sure to look dapper when cruising around in your dilapidated ’89 Mondial cabriolet 250 Testa Rossa in this fine helmet made of satin-finish aluminium, metalised thermoplastic and genuine leather.

Ferrari 458

“We had our first trade-in swaps on Ferrari 458s barely four months after the car was bought. We actually have pre-owned 458s now because one set of customers literally ordered two cars — one with a very straightforward specification that would come straight down the production line as early as possible, and at the same time they ordered one with all the special spec they wanted. When that car turned up, they traded in the first one.”
Mr. Rowe is not concerned, however, as there are some very loyal followers of the Ferrari brand in the land down under: “We have one owner who bought his first Ferrari in 1973, and I think he has bought about 15 since then and is yet to sell one. The very first Ferrari ever sold in Australia is still on the road in Melbourne, a (1950s-era) 212.”

Even though that 212 is probably not still in the hands of its original owner, it’s nice to see there are people in Australia who care so much for the Ferrari brand. In Australia and indeed the world, Ferrari waiting lists are notoriously long. At one point the average wait time for a Ferrari 575M Maranello was as much as three years, as demand rapidly stripped out the brand’s relatively small production capacity. Whatever is a cashed up Ferrarista to do?

Well, you could just buy whatever’s available and drive that until your hot pink Ferrari 458 with the diamante-encrusted wheel arches and baby seal leather interior arrives. I mean, who cares about depreciation when you can lay down half a million on a factory fresh Ferrari? You’d be surprised how many Ferrari customers in Australia are doing this exact thing.

Ferrari FF

The new 599 will make use of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a multi-link rear axle as is the case with the California, 458 and FF. The car will also benefit from the fitting of an electronic differential on the rear-axle, which will allow for greater handling flexibility according to the Manettino's position.

In tune with its performance-oriented character, the 599 replacement will not have all-wheel-drive like the FF. However, AWD could be offered as an option on the California in 2013.The car's naturally aspirated V12 engine will reportedly develop around 700 horsepower and will be based on the FF's 6.3-liter unit, using direct injection in order to be more fuel-efficient than the current 599. Aside from the power increase of around 80 horsepower, the 599's successor will be also lighter, due to the use of an aluminum frame made up of 20 different alloys.

It seems Ferrari will stick with aluminum, although Lamborghini and McLaren have switched to carbon fiber. The magazine quotes Ferrari technical director Roberto Fedeli who admits the car will use some composite panels as well.It seems the success of the Ferrari FF, the production of which for this year has already been sold out, will affect the 599 GTB Fiorano as well. But in a good way, since it is being reported that Ferrari has cancelled the original plans for a 599 facelift and instead build an all-new car as a replacement. The plan was revealed by Motor Trend magazine, which noted that the new car will be derived from the FF featuring a mightier punch in the performance division. Ferrari plans to launch the new car in late 2012.

Ferrari P540

Pininfarina’s most recent coachbuilt 599 is the Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta, made for another American customer, Edward Walson. Also, let's not forget the Ferrari SA Aperta, the convertible version of the 599 GTO. Even though the latter was built in a limited series of 80 units as Ferrari's tribute to Pininfarina, it is the closest thing yet to a unique convertible 599. That is, until the Ferrari Super America 45 makes its debut next month. Other bespoke models confirmed for the 2011 edition of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, which runs from May 20 to 22, include the Audi Quattro Concept, Mercedes-Benz Concept Shooting Break, Infiniti Etherea Concept, Italdesign Giugiaro Go!, Rinspeed Bamboo, Renault DeZir and the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus P4/5 racer.

Until we receive some photos of the new Super America 45, take a look at the Ferrari 575 Super America, SA Aperta and P540 Superfast Aperta in our gallery below.
This year’s edition of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este motor show in Italy will see Pininfarina lifting the veils off (that is, unless some scoopster beats them to it…) a spanking new coachbuilt Ferrari convertible called the Super America 45. The one-off supercar was commissioned by New York billionaire, real estate tycoon and former owner of the New York Post, Peter Kalikow, who also owns another coachbuilt Ferrari made by Pininfarina, the 612 Kappa. While the famous Italian designer is keeping the rest of the details under wraps, the one-off supercar is believed to be based either on the 599 GTB Fiorano or the 599 GTO with some claiming it may feature a similar rotating central-piece roof to the 2005 Ferrari 575 Superamerica. The bespoke, open-top supercar will probably be powered by a stock 6.0-liter V12 engine, though it is difficult to say what other elements will be kept untouched, as we're talking about a vehicle built to customer specifications.
