Prevent Damage To The Automatic Transmission

Ways to prevent damage to the automatic transmission on your favorite car.

• Check regularly for oil leaks. Does the engine, power steering or transmission. If a leak immediately bring to the workshop.
• Every now and then note the volume and transmission oil levels. Do not let your guard down attention to the volume of oil is reduced, because it can cause leaks. Not all types of transmissions are equipped. Like well as on some models of old cars, just a garage mechanic who knows.
• Replace new oil-tands so visible signs of oil began to warn a black or dirty. Keep in mind, not all fluids drained of oil when you change the new oil. Remaining approximately 40% in the torque converter. That means you replace only 60% of new oil only. Thus it is often to change the oil.
• Use a new oil sejenls appropriate advice from a manual transmission to avoid sensitivity to the type of oil used.
• Never move the lever to position P or R until the car stopped completely.
• Do not suddenly move the gear lever from position P when the machine is in high rotation.
• Always walk on the brake lever when moved to the position of P.
• fatal damage can occur if the automatic car used to pull another car. Conversely, if the automatic car will be withdrawn, should lift the bag ian wheel that moves (FWD or RWD).

VW Golf GTI and Golf R Mk7 Test Mules Scooped Germany in 2013

The next generation of the VW Golf  which if not further delayed, will arrive towards the end of 2012 or early 2013, will be based on German firm’s cost-saving modular transverse architecture, more commonly known by its German abbreviation "MQB”.
The range-topping Golf models will use a new 2.0-liter TSI force-fed gasoline engine with more oomph producing somewhere around 220 to 230 horsepower on the GTI and close to 300-horses in the Golf R which will be equipped with VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
Never mind the body of the current, 6th generation Golf featured on these test two Volkswagen prototypes snagged by our scoop photographers in Germany; these are test mules for the upcoming Mk7 Golf GTI and its more powerful sibling, the Golf R. As for what the new Golf will look like, VW accidentally gave us our first look at a very early clay prototype of the Mk7 Golf featuring a sharper snout and more steeply raked windscreen through an official video back in 2009. The company had then quickly erased the scene with the clay prototype but not before we saved the original clip.
Despite the fact that both vehicles look alike at first, a closer glance shows that the GTI is the one with the twin tailpipes while the R features a quad exhaust outlets. Another important detail worth mentioning are the rear wheel arch extensions that suggest a wider rear track for both models.

VW Polo R WRC

VW board member Ulrich Hackenberg told Autocar that the WRC involvement would make a Polo GTI-topping model “more likely”. “You can see how the World Rally Championship program would increase the probability of an R version of the base model,” said Hackenberg, who added that the launch of the Polo R should coincide with the start rally program in 2013.

The car would probably use a more powerful version of the 1.4-liter turbocharged and supercharged engine used by the Polo GTI. Output will most likely be over 200 horsepower, as in the Polo GTI the four-cylinder unit delivers 180 horsepower. It is unclear, however, if the Polo R would adopt a four-wheel drive system as Audi's future S1 model, built on the same platform.Reports of a future production version of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC car have started to emerge after the carmaker announced it would enter the World Rally Championship in 2013. According to a VW board member quoted by Autocar, the company is working on a hardcore performance version of the Polo to back up its WRC entry.

Before the WRC announcement, Volkswagen had denied rumors of developing a Polo R, explaining that a very expensive small hot-hatch wouldn't be profitable. However, the rally car revealed in the beginning of May featured the R nameplate and had lots of R branding on the bodywork.

VW Beetle

Due to be set in motion this fall, the project will see Europe’s largest automaker providing a fleet of cars that will be used in a sharing scheme with customers booking the vehicles in advance through the Internet, a special app or a call center up to five minutes before the car is needed. A chip card or a chip fixed to the driver’s license unlocks the car, which can be driven after the customer enters a PIN number using the integrated touch screen. Quicar launches, there will be some 50 pick-up and drop-off locations all over the city of Hannover, but VW said this number could reach 100 in the medium term.

Volkswagen said it will start off with 200 Golf BlueMotion vehicles equipped with a 1.6 TDI diesel engine that returns an average fuel consumption of 3.8lt/100km (equal to 61.9 mpg US), corresponding to CO2 emissions of 99 g/km. The 2012 Beetle seen in the pictures along with some variants of the Caddy will be added to VW’s car sharing fleet shortly after the launch of the program. To be completely frank, what caught our attention in Volkswagen’s latest press release (and probably yours in this post) on the new pilot car-sharing program called Quicar, wasn’t the news itself but the special livery of the 2012 Beetle shown in the promotional set of photos. Nevertheless, since we already told you the headline here’s the rest of the story on Volkswagen’s new car sharing concept that will take place in the German city of Hanover (or Hannover).

VW to Model in China

SAIC released a statement saying the car will be a compact premium sedan for the Chinese market and that it will be based on VW's "most advanced platform and engine technology”, without getting into any further details. Unlike VW’s partnership with FAW that builds Audi’s luxury models as well as a range of upscale Volkswagen vehicle’s such as the Golf, New Bora, Magotan, and Passat CC, SAIC’s joint venture with VW is limited to the latter’s Polo, Touran, Santana, Lavida, Passat and Tiguan, and certain Skoda models. With the new agreement, SAIC wants to extend its reach in the premium segment.

On the other hand, the China FAW Group Corp. wants to enter the growing electric vehicle market through its newly created Kali brand with a dedicated EV, details of which are to be released at a later date. Lending even more evidence to China’s growing importance for automakers, Volkswagen is planning to develop two new bespoke vehicles, one with each of its partners in the Middle Kingdom, Autonews said in a report today. Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., which is a joint venture between China’s SAIC Motor Co. and Volkswagen AG, will produce a new luxury sedan, while VW’s second joint venture in the country with the China FAW Group Corp., FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., will develop a dedicated electric vehicle for the partnership's newly launched Kali brand.

Volkswagen Sports Car

Take for instance the drooping taillights that seem more befitting a Chinese car than one built in Germany, or the peculiar concave curves around the doors that seems stuck on rather than an integral part of the design. Otherwise it’s quite good looking, though perhaps more something Infiniti would produce than Volkswagen.
Kyrgyzstanian graphic designer “Steel Drake” has created something very much fitting with this scenario in the form of his Volkswagen Concept Sports Car. Looking like a scaled-down, front engined Audi R8, Steel Drake’s Concept Sports is a simple-yet-sleek design let down only by some questionable design choices.
Imagine for a second that, in the very near future, Audi is facelifting the TT to look more like its big brother R8. Then, halfway through the project, Audi cans it and hands over all its sketches and prototyping model to Volkswagen which then decides to put the two-door coupe into production.

Volkswagen

Volkswagen isn’t the first foreign automaker to come up with such an idea as several global players have already formed low-cost brands targeting China’s entry-level segments including General Motors with the Baojun marque and Honda with Li Nian. "Currently we are not competing in the 20 percent of the market made by low-cost products, but before making a decision we should also look to how this segment could evolve," Soh said.

In 2010, the VW Group sold close to 2 million vehicles in China, recording a 37.4 percent increase over the previous year. The company recently revealed plans to invest €10.6 billion in China over the next few years to further increase sales. At last week’s Shanghai Auto Show 2011, the Volkswagen Group expanded its China portfolio with the official introduction of the Seat brand to the world’s largest car market. However, the German giant has more plans in store for China as the VW Group is considering the creation of a low cost brand to break through the country’s popular entry-level segment.

"We are currently evaluating with our partner First Auto Works whether we need to add a domestic brand to enter the low-cost portion of the Chinese market," said Soh Weiming, executive vice president of sales and marketing for VW Group China, at the Automotive News China Conference.
