The cooling system is a water-cooled, forced-circulation type. It employs a bottom by-pass type in which the thermostat is equipped with a by-pass valve. The total capacity of the cooling system is approximately 10 liter. The turbo charger is cooled by the cooling water which flows in the following route: cylinder block – turbo charger – turbo charger water bypass – water pump.
The engine overheats on Daihatsu Fourtrak can be caused by poor quality coolant, water pump drive belt loose or missing, dirt on radiator, leaky hoses/ water pump/ thermostat housing/ radiator/ heater/ core plugs or head gasket, thermostat faulty, ignition timing retarded, radiator hose plugged or deteriorated, water pump faulty, radiator plugged or cap faulty, cylinder head or block cracked or plugged.
